back to snow, ice and reality!

26 Feb

All good things come to an end. What a vacation it's been. So good to have Jenn join us these past couple of weeks. Family vacations are precious commodities, as we all weave our way through life. We're blessed.

Whether it's a beach picnic, or strolling the sands, we've just been chillin'.

Back next year!

Bougainvillea to hummers

22 Feb

The island is a little like a ship in the ocean, totally subject to weather coming in off the Atlantic. A wild blustery day, with patches of hot sun, then torrential downpours.

Spent the morning searching out potential alternative accommodation . . .  in anticipation for next year. No way to avoid spectacular views, and beaches of course!

A panorama of Govenor's Harbour, always pleasing to the eye

Bougainvillea everywhere -

 . . . and hummers!

Lazy, sunny days.

21/22 Feb

Not much to do excepy mooch around, and enjoy. Ah! Life is hard.

A fellow resident downtown, no tan though.

That's reserved for beach goers . . .

Last night, thoroughly thumped . . .

But this morning, and bright, blustery new day!

beach time . . . again!

19 February 2020

Island Farm . . .the go-to for fresh veggies, bread, and other goodies

Then . . .  down to the beach, never too far away.

This morning, shared the water with an Eagle Ray, which can grow up to 10 feet in width, and 24 feet in length, including their tail.

Back on the beach, and discovery of a piece of driftwood.

Yes, it would look elegant in the front garden.

But, no, you can’t take it home

And that’s final!

New recipe!

11 Feb

Today a baking Day.

Mar has found this recipe for Artisan Bread . . . a recipe that requires no kneading, no rising . . . in fact not much effort at all.

So – gave it try, and holy crow – it works!

a return to Leorose

6 Feb

A picnic lunch on the beach today, then pop into LeoRose for an afternoon beer.
