Cigarettes?

The odd thing is, in a week of being here, we've seen absolutely no hint of a cigarette, or indeed smoking, anywhere. How nice is that?

So - today another perfect weather one. Well, actually an everything one.

Off to CocoDiMoma beach this morning, a little but of exploring, and a little beyond the beach we found a pelican hangout, at an old, derelict dock. Lots of photo opportunities . . .

Then there's the beach, of course.

Darn . . .dropped my glasses . . .

All's well that ends well.

The close of another stress less day

a perfect day

Our first real stroll on French Leave beach this morning. Perfect weather. Sun not too hot, offshore breeze, a handful of people.

Perfect for the initial pedicure.

Miles to walk

With a perfect end of day

Hunkered down

Quiet day today.

High winds, and moderate heavy sea. Tornado in Cuba apparently, but all we had was rain, warm, and wind with impressive waves.

Did spy an American Oystercatcher on the shore line, taking advantage of goodies thrown up by the waves.

All calm now, and back for an evening of quiet fishing.

A slow, laid back day

A day of total rest yesterday.

Today, a leisurely stroll along the front, past the cemetery towards Cupid’s Cay, the oldest settlement on the Island.

Our local neighbourhood . . .

The corniche bustling with tourist activity.

Love the gnarly trees . . .

And a bit of excitement. Peering over the edge, Mar spotted a rather large creature close by the shore. Turns out to be a shark, mooching along the shore. Graceful moves, just glad we weren’t paddling then. Figure it must have been about 1.5 meters in length.

28 Celsius, feels like 31, winds gusting to 44kph. Couldn’t be better.

Our second floor pad, home for the next couple of weeks.

Escaping winter

Well, it was a long and rather arduous two day trip. The winter snow, ice and temperatures sure made the drive from Kingston to Toronto a challenge. But the bonus was less traffic on the roads, as most people seemed to have stayed home. Essential travel only, as recommended. Ours was essential!

Arrived in Nassau pretty much on time, despite the US Government shutdown precipitated by Mr. T and the Whitehouse gang. As the route from Toronto to Nassau flies over US airspace, the traffic controllers (US Government employees) were on partial shutdown I guess, so it meant a less than direct route.

Nuff said.

Finally touchdown in Govenor’s Harbour, and it’s well, kind of like home away from home.

No, honestly, there was no welcome committee.

Collect the rental car at the airport, stop off at Burrowes Grocery for essential supplies, and . . . we’re here!

Then the outlook. Not a snowflake in sight. Dead quiet.

Then today – well, not much happening for sure. No pressure. No rush. Just chillin’. Staring out to sea.

A slow day of recuperation, and this evening, sitting on the balcony, warm breeze, enjoying the day fade.
