Two days left . . . then cold and snow!

A visit to the only National Park on Eleuthera, the Levy Preserve, 25 acres of natural habitat carefully laid out to showcase all the good things that grow – including a lesson on natural teas!

Bahamian buttercups,

Local lizards sunbathing,

And Bahamian Sliders just waiting to be fed treats!

Always a good thing to take a break in the shade.

Papayas, a great smoothie ingredient

more suny days . . .

Exploring Governors Harbour, and a visit to the very tip, Cupid's Cay.

Two discoveries. A large yacht in the bay - $300k a week, and sleeps 12.

Plus a potential starter home, on an outstanding piece of property.

Still, nothing to beat the deserted sands of French Leave beach on the Atlantic side.

The next day, and a trip up north, to Harbour Island, and the settlement of Dunmore. Some settlements on Eleuthera date back to the 1640s.

This looks like a business I could manage!

The Glass Window bridge. Eleuthera has one main road, stretching 100 miles from one end of the island to the other. The road crosses a gap narrow enough for the Atlantic to take a short cut through to the Caribbean Sea, which the road has to cross. Hence the bridge.

Although in reality, the highway is not exactly busy.

A local telephone tower, suitable dressed.
